This course discusses the transmission, signs and symptoms, complications, and treatment of various STD’s, in addition to prevention strategies.

Objectives:

a). Discuss the rates of occurrence in the United States of various STD’s.

b). Describe which populations are most vulnerable to which STD’s.

c). Discuss the methods of transmission for syphilis, gonorrhea, and genital HPV and herpes, and describe the symptoms of each.

d). Name at least two methods that may help prevent the transmission of STD’s.
