Patients suffering from anorexia nervosa have a litany of medical complications which are commonly present as part of their eating disorders. This course reviews all body systems affected by anorexia and provides information about how to identify medical complications in anorexia.

Objectives:

a). List at least three medical complications associated with anorexia.

b). Discuss the body systems impacted by anorexia.

c). Describe one medical complication that needs to be identified and treated as early as possible during the course of anorexia.

d). Discuss why eating disorders tend to be associated with more medical complications than other types of mental disorders.

Target Audience:

The target audience for this event includes psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed counselors, MFT’s, and other clinical mental health professionals.
