Introduction
Women with ADHD have historically been overlooked, misdiagnosed, and undertreated, not because they don’t struggle, but because the field developed its diagnostic lens around young men. Girls and women are far more likely to present with inattentive symptoms, emotional dysregulation, and sophisticated masking strategies that make their ADHD invisible to teachers, clinicians, and often themselves. The result is decades of misdiagnoses and shame-filled self-narratives, while the underlying neurological difference goes unaddressed.
This course equips therapists with the clinical knowledge and practical tools to recognize ADHD in women across the lifespan, understand how hormonal shifts at puberty, in the peripartum period, and through perimenopause amplify and reshape symptoms. Course participants will learn ready-to-use, trauma-informed interventions for helping clients build a compassionate understanding of their own minds, develop executive functioning strategies that work with their neurology, and step into a more empowered relationship with their health and care.
This is a 3-CE online seminar delivered virtually in real-time via an industry-standard webinar platform.

- Masking and compensation: How girls learn to camouflage symptoms through social performance, perfectionism, and people-pleasing
- Misdiagnosis pathways: Anxiety, depression, bipolar II, and borderline personality disorder; overlapping features and how to differentiate
- Case vignette discussion: Late-diagnosed adult woman, tracing the diagnostic journey
Hormones Across the Lifespan
