Jodi’s passion for culturally appropriate human/animal bond and agriculture related services in rural areas resulted in her developing animal assisted therapy programs and therapeutic horticulture for two community mental health centers: Centennial Mental Health Center in Northeast Colorado and Peak Wellness Center in Southeast Wyoming. Jodi states, “I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to bring my passion for the natural world and rural culture into my professional work by developing programs that are culturally meaningful and support the rural culture.” She further states, “My original therapy dog, Mr. Big, taught me more about patience and unconditional love than any other relationship in my life. It is astounding to me how much he continues to teach me about grief and loss through his passing.” Jodi has held positions as a clinician, clinical coordinator, clinical supervisor, regional clinical director and telehealth clinical supervisor, and education and training coordinator in her years at Centennial Mental Health Center and Peak Wellness Center. Jodi developed animal assisted therapy, therapeutic horticulture and peer specialist programs during her tenure at Centennial Mental Health Center and was the architect for and developed a centralized, telehealth clinical supervision model for Peak Wellness Center. Jodi has extensive training and experience in working in the telehealth model. She authored an article regarding transitioning to working remotely and provided support to others transitioning to remote work during the Covid 19 Pandemic shut down in March, 2020. This article was used internally at Peak Wellness Center to support staff during this transition. Jodi also served as secretary of the Iliff Head Start Advisory Board for six years in Iliff, CO and is currently on the Absaroka Head Start Advisory Board in Worland, WY. Jodi currently works full time as a telehealth clinical supervisor and trainer for Volunteers of America Norther Rockies (VOANR). Volunteers of America Northern Rockies merged with Peak Wellness Center in July of 2020 and serves the needs of individuals with behavior health care and substance use disorder challenges, as well as specializing in services for veterans in Montana, Wyoming and Western South Dakota. She enjoys teaching webinars and assisting others in their professional development under her private company JGC Enterprises, LLC in the areas of Ethics, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, working in the telehealth model and the human/animal bond. Jodi is also a professional mixed media and water color artist and hopes to volunteer at the Washakie County Library in Worland, WY, developing an animal assisted reading program for youth.

Why Choose Us?

Why Choose Our Certificate in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Program?

5 words: “Give them what they want!”

Clients often come in wanting us to “fix” them. You’ve probably gotten the classic mantra “Here’s what’s wrong with me, now tell me what to do to fix it!” We know from our training that our role as the therapist is to be a facilitator, to purposefully engage the client in a way that elicits their own strengths to move toward autonomous self-healing.

But, this doesn’t necessarily align with the “medical model” expectations many of our clients still have coming into therapy. Luckily though, there is a therapy approach that is centrally oriented around solution-building while simultaneously operative within the more progressive social model taught in clinical mental health education today.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a brilliant counseling approach that increases client buy-in around the counseling process (i.e. let’s talk about solutions!) while maintaining the client’s role as the expert and driver of their own healing. Boost your clinical toolset with targeted training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Apply these skills alongside any therapeutic orientation with individuals, families, trauma, and anxiety!

You can do it in about 13 hours self-paced, and this certificate program does not require that you pay money over and over just to keep your certificate “current.” We believe that when you’ve gained these practical SFBT skills, you don’t lose them after one year, or five years. Just as you don’t have to earn your degree over and over, SFBT skills and competence are improved over time, not lost, so long as you continue to practice these skills. If you find that you’re getting a little dusty, or just need additional help, we welcome you to attend our group consultations (up to 4 for FREE!). You can even retake one or more of your enrolled on-demand program courses at no additional cost directly from your user Dashboard.

When you earn your Certificate in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, it becomes a signal to potential clients that you’re ready and excited to help them leverage the power of transformative solution-building and collaborative goal setting. And because the certificate doesn’t expire, you don’t have to worry about anyone telling you to stop listing it on your website, directory listings, etc.

We’re eager to help you start your SFBT learning adventure (I mean heck, we spend our entire days building solutions around here)! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at cc@onlinececredits.com.
