This course provides an overview of HIV, including risk factors, socioeconomic issues, and prevention strategies among diverse populations.Objectives:1. Discuss how HIV/AIDS can differentially affect diverse populations, including African Americans, American Indians and Alaska Natives, Asians and Pacific Islanders, Hispanics/Latinos, men who have sex with men, women, adults over age 50, and youth.2. Describe how substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, risky sexual behavior, and social and cultural influences impact the risk level for HIV contraction.3.
