Introduction

Smiling woman with blonde hair and wearing a red dress.

Please note: This training is delivered in an Interactive Intensive format utilizing the complete recorded NDIT Level I curriculum combined with live instructor-led discussion and Q&A throughout both training days.

Join Dr. Jennifer Sweeton for a unique Interactive Intensive featuring the complete NDIT (Neural Desensitization and Integration Training) Level I curriculum combined with live question-and-answer discussions throughout the training experience.

This Interactive Intensive fulfills the same educational content requirements as the standard NDIT Level I training while providing participants with opportunities for real-time interaction and discussion throughout both training days.

NDIT is a neuroscience-informed trauma treatment model that integrates findings from trauma research, neuroscience, attachment theory, memory reconsolidation research, and evidence-based psychotherapy approaches. The model provides clinicians with a practical framework for understanding and treating the cognitive, emotional, somatic, relational, and nervous system effects of trauma.

Participants will learn how trauma impacts the brain and body, how to identify and address common barriers to recovery, and how to implement practical interventions that promote regulation, resilience, adaptive processing, and long-term recovery. Emphasis is placed on immediately applicable clinical strategies that can be integrated into a variety of treatment settings and therapeutic orientations.

About the Interactive Intensive Format

An Interactive Intensive combines comprehensive training content with live instructor engagement throughout the learning experience.

Participants will:

- Complete the full NDIT Level I curriculum
- Interact live with Dr. Jennifer Sweeton throughout both training days
- Participate in live question-and-answer discussions
- Receive clarification regarding key concepts and interventions
- Explore practical implementation strategies
- Gain additional insights and examples that extend beyond the core training content

Throughout the training, Dr. Sweeton will periodically pause the instructional content to answer participant questions, provide clarification, discuss implementation considerations, and expand upon key concepts.

This format provides the consistency and comprehensiveness of a structured training program while preserving the benefits of live interaction and real-time instructor support.

This is a 2-day, 14-CE online seminar delivered virtually in real-time via an industry-standard webinar platform.

Objectives:

This training will provide participants clinical knowledge and tools to:

After completing this training, participants will be able to describe the neurobiological impact of trauma on the brain, body, and nervous system.

After completing this training, participants will be able to explain the theoretical foundations and treatment framework of Neural Desensitization and Integration Training (NDIT).

After completing this training, participants will be able to identify common trauma-related disruptions in cognition, emotion regulation, attachment, and somatic functioning.

After completing this training, participants will be able to conceptualize trauma symptoms using a neuroscience-informed framework.

After completing this training, participants will be able to apply interventions designed to improve nervous system regulation and client stabilization.

After completing this training, participants will be able to utilize strategies that strengthen resilience and adaptive functioning.

After completing this training, participants will be able to identify appropriate treatment targets within the NDIT model.

After completing this training, participants will be able to implement interventions that facilitate adaptive processing and integration of traumatic experiences.

After completing this training, participants will be able to differentiate stabilization, processing, and integration phases of trauma treatment.

After completing this training, participants will be able to integrate NDIT principles and interventions into existing psychotherapy approaches.

After completing this training, participants will be able to state the three steps of memory reconsolidation.

After completing this training, participants will be able to describe why bilateral movement can facilitate desensitization to distressing thoughts or memories.

After completing this training, participants will be able to identify two ways to alter visual or auditory memory components that decreases their intensity during imaginal exposure.
