Trauma Recovery After Loss Post-COVID: Skills for Diagnosis & Treatment

Trauma Recovery After Loss Post-COVID: Skills for Diagnosis & Treatment

Date course created: August 2022

Our post-pandemic world has left many of our clients in exceptional hardship, especially those most vulnerable. We’ve lost over a million people to COVID-19. It has constrained access to resources and created instability in the labor market. It has contributed to social and economic unrest as many deal with isolation, loneliness, and prolonged despair. Join Dr. Jennifer Sweeton as she, in collaboration with the Grief Support Network of Kansas City, brings you neuroscience-based techniques for the treatment of grief and trauma you can use to help your clients build resilience and growth after loss.

Loss, isolation, trauma, anxiety, and grief are commonplace for many people, and will likely continue to be with the various global challenges we can see actively hitting home for so many. And while resilience and post-traumatic growth are absolutely possible, it can be difficult to know how to recover and thrive during, and after, trauma and upheaval. In this seminar, Dr. Sweeton shares the neuroscience behind resilience and post-traumatic grown, and teaches attendees several evidence-informed techniques rooted in that brain science, which can help individuals improve emotion regulation. These techniques can be used in a variety of settings, even when professionals are working with individuals via phone or video teleconferencing.

My Own Keeper: Therapy Tools to Break Codependency

My Own Keeper: Therapy Tools to Break Codependency

Date course created: July 2022

This course is perfect for clinicians seeking advanced training in treating codependent behaviors. The training program offers research-backed techniques to help identify unhealthy relationship patterns and empower clients to build healthier emotional connections. Through this interactive training, therapists will gain practical tools to apply in sessions, helping clients navigate issues like low self-esteem, boundary-setting, and conflict resolution. Ideal for those looking to enhance their therapeutic approach to codependency treatment.

Relationships impact almost every aspect of our life and our personal being. Part of creating healthy relationships involves understanding and identifying unhealthy patterns in ourselves and others. Patterns in abusive relationships and codependency go far beyond one partner simply suffering from an addiction. The focus of this workshop is to break down these identifiable patterns within the codependent relationship as well as how different elements of a relationship such as self-esteem, trust, boundaries, risk taking, and conflict resolution both impact and are impacted by negative codependent patterns. Over this 3-hour live interactive CE event, you will be introduced to how the scientific research has changed our understanding of these patterns as well as influenced best practices and the treatment models for codependency.

Learn how to develop and use curiosity and questioning to strengthen the therapeutic alliance and invite your codependent clients to effectively communicate their underlying issues. Use this valuable information to deploy research-informed and targeted treatment models for codependency. The seminar will be presented through zoom and will include time for questions.
