In today’s world, couples’ relationships are often under threat from multiple distractions which can disrupt their emotional connection with one another. Couples often present for counseling because one partner is engaging in behaviors that violates the other’s trust. Social media, financial issues, emotional affairs, and pornography use can easily turn into micro-cheating/cheating behaviors. This course will provide mental health professionals with practical solutions and strategies to working with couples where there has been infidelity. This course includes a review of multiple types of infidelity, the impact infidelity has on romantic relationships, and empirically-based approaches to working with couples where cheating has occurred. This course will incorporate a pre-recorded interview with a couple coping with infidelity in their relationship to demonstrate the long-term impact infidelity can have on a couple.
