We know from the landmark ACES study that small t and large T trauma especially may increase the prevalence of mental health disorders and overall psychological impairment both during childhood and into adulthood if left untreated. Most experts argue that trauma from attachment rupture and caregiver abuse or neglect can be the most devastating in terms of an overall psychological health prognosis.

The neurobiology of attachment and trauma are closely related and impact child and adolescent brain development. EMDR and Attachment Based Interventions are effective at healing the damage from attachment wounds and traumatic experiences of a child and/or adolescent. Learn specific interventions that will assist you in working with trauma and attachment repair as it applies to children and adolescent populations.
