What is the difference between PTSD and grief? How does grief relate to sexual trauma specifically and why is it important to know how grief plays into sexual trauma? Learn interventions and therapies that will help you address grief in the context of sexual trauma, moving your clients into resilience and long term healing.
This training will analyze the different types of sexual trauma and symptoms of traumatic grief. It will also help the attendees learn to conceptualize the difference between grief and PTSD and how a traumatic experience can lead to grief. Attendees will also learn about current therapeutic approaches and techniques to help those who’ve experienced sexual trauma begin to successfully navigate their grief. This training will provided insight on how to support children, adolescents, and adults who are grieving due to sexual trauma.

Objectives:
This training will provide participants clinical knowledge and tools to:
a). Identify and explain the different types of sexual trauma, grief, and traumatic grief.
b). Learn and describe 1-2 theoretical orientations and their techniques to support traumatic grief.
c). Learn and practice 3-4 interventions for trauma, grief, and guilt to promote resiliency in clients.
Target Audience:
The target audience for this course includes licensed psychologists, social workers, counselors, MFT’s, and other licensed clinical mental health professionals.
