CE That Meets Texas Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas, the requirements are:
A minimum of thirty (30) contact hours of continuing education (CE) is required every two years for license renewal (by the last day of the licensee's birth month).
At least six (6) contact hours of the thirty (30) must be devoted to professional ethics and social work values. If licensed as a supervisor, at least six (6) hours must be in supervision-specific CE each renewal period, which may count toward the thirty (30) hour total.
At least three (3) contact hours must be in cultural diversity, cultural competency, or competence serving a distinct population. All licensees who provide direct client care must complete an approved human-trafficking awareness/prevention course every renewal cycle. Completion must count for at least 1 hour of CE credit toward the 30-hour total.
