CE That Meets Louisiana Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana, the requirements are:
40 clock hours every 2 years for both LPC and LPC‑S (Supervisor) designation. PLPC (Provisional) renewal requires 20 hours every 2 years.
LPC: 3 hrs ethics, 6 hrs diagnosis (DSM‑5) LPC‑S: +3 hrs supervision (if maintaining) PLPC: 1.5 hrs each in ethics, diagnosis, and social/cultural foundations
Up to 20 hours of online CE allowed (unless coursework from regionally accredited institutions). Up to 10 home‑study hours; all other activities must count toward live, formal instruction. 1 CEH = 1 clock hour (50‑60 minutes). Licenses expire June 30 every odd/even year depending on initial licensure date; CE accepted from ACA, LCA, NBCC without prior board approval; must fall into approved content areas.
