This 3-hour training will explore how to help couples where there has been financial betrayal. This workshop will provide participants with a theoretical framework to understand couples’ financial struggles. Clinicians will learn how to identify financial betrayal, assess the damage done to the couple’s relationship, explore the interpersonal values behind money issues that often get missed, and help couples rebuild trust and understanding with one another. Clinicians will learn specific tools to help their couples talk about financial issues openly and honestly in supportive ways that strengthen their relationship.

In addition to foundational skills, this training will guide clinicians in designing step-by-step repair plans tailored to each couple’s needs- incorporating financial disclosures, trust-building rituals, accountability systems, and appropriate referrals. Participants will also learn how to assess a couple’s readiness for repair versus signs that deeper abusive dynamics may require a different clinical response. By the end of the training, clinicians will be equipped to support couples through the complex process of healing financial betrayal with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

Participants will leave this workshop having the strategies to understand couples’ financial struggles on a deeper level and to assist their couples in understanding their financial betrayal issues as a breach of trust and emotional intimacy.
