CE That Meets Michigan Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Michigan , the requirements are:
Michigan does not require continuing education (CE) for LMFT license renewal. Licenses renew every three years by the expiration date on the license.
Licensees must complete implicit bias training prior to each license renewal, generally one (1) hour per year of the license cycle, as required under Michigan public health code provisions.
Other mandatory trainings may apply (e.g., Michigan requires a one-time human trafficking training course for licensees who did not complete this requirement at initial licensure). The training content must align with the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy standards under the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
