Prolonged Exposure (PE) is a transformative therapy for people with PTSD. If you’re here looking into advanced PE training, you’ve probably already seen the relief this therapy has enabled for many of your clients. Perhaps, though, you’ve struggled with some cases – gotten stuck, seen avoidance win the battle, made progress only to see a return to baseline, or facilitated some growth but then found your yourself stymied by certain emotions or beliefs.
PE is not only a robust intervention that straightforwardly employs one of the most powerful therapeutic mechanisms, but it is also a remarkably flexible intervention with room to engage many of the known processes of change in therapy.
This workshop will introduce participants to a model of learning that may function as a high-definition, wide-angle lens through which to observe and engage PE processes. In addition, evidence-based strategies for enhancing PE outcomes will be introduced and practiced. Participants will complete the workshop with a substantial new perspective on PE processes and a myriad of tools for breaking down barriers, alleviating avoidance, and encouraging engagement through the intervention.
This is a 6-CE noninteractive, self-paced online video course delivered in home study format via an industry-standard online learning platform.

Objectives
This training will provide participants clinical knowledge and tools to:
After completing this training, participants will be able to recognize all evidence-based therapeutic process engaged in PE therapy.- After completing this training, participants will be able to describe inhibitory learning theory and how this model may enhance PE implementation.
- After completing this training, participants will be able to identify at least five evidence-based strategies for enhancing exposure.
- After completing this training, participants will be able to demonstrate at least one new tool/technique for mitigating avoidance in therapy.
- After completing this training, participants will be able to delineate the multiple evidence-based formats in which PE can be delivered.
- After completing this training, participants will be able to employ at least one procedural adaption to improve patient outcomes.
