Introduction
Date Course Created: February 2026
This dynamic, experiential training explores the essential role of the body in trauma recovery and bridges the gap between cognitive insight and embodied change. Grounded in neuroscience and informed by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Polyvagal Theory, attachment science, and somatic experiencing psychotherapy traditions, this course provides clinicians and healing professionals with a variety of practical, somatic based, trauma-sensitive tools to support nervous system regulation and healing for your clients.
Participants will learn how to assess somatic readiness, introduce body-based awareness safely, and integrate techniques such as tracking, grounding, orienting, and containment. Emphasis is placed on pacing, titration, and co-regulation to avoid retraumatization and build somatic trust.
This course offers a blend of didactic teaching, guided practice, and real-world clinical examples to enhance confidence and competency in using somatic interventions with diverse client presentations – including dissociation, anxiety, complex trauma, and attachment wounds.
Ideal for trauma specialists, body-centered practitioners, and those clinicians seeking to deepen their skillset, this course helps bridge the gap between cognitive insight and embodied change!
