This training will examine the different types of grief, their history, symptoms, and ways to support. Analyzation of how culture can impact the grieving process and grief across the lifespan will be discussed during this training. Attendees will learn about current grief models, theoretical orientations, and assessment tools to help conceptualize grief. Attendees will be empowered with grief interventions and tools to be able to support clients who are learning to manage and live alongside grief.

Objectives:
This training will provide participants clinical knowledge and tools to:
a). Identify and understand the different types of grief and their key constructs, symptoms, origins, and impact on treatment.
b). Name and describe 2-3 grief models to conceptualize grief and the clinician’s role in its treatment.
c). State how grief can impact a client across the life span.
d). Learn and understand how culture can impact the grieving process.
e). Name and describe 3-4 interventions to better support clients who are grieving.
f). Learn and practice 2-3 strategies to help clients set boundaries during their grieving process.
