The Holiday Seasons, no matter which one(s) a client may celebrate, usually consist of time and togetherness with loved ones – making the time of year extra difficult when these loved ones are gone. Holiday Grief is a special kind of grief with unique triggers and many complicated emotions and feelings. Without proper intervention and care, Holiday Grief can absolutely cripple some clients – sometimes rendering them unable to function during during an already demanding time of year. Luckily, there are some clinical tools and techniques available to us so we can give these clients the boost they need to make it through!

Holiday Grief, along with seasonal depression, can be taxing on our clients. Navigating the holidays after a loss while setting healthy boundaries can be overwhelming and daunting for clients. In this training, clinicians will learn the signs and common triggers of Holiday Grief. Attendees will leave this workshop with the skills to provide concrete steps for clients to set healthy boundaries and manage the unique pain and emotional challenges of Holiday Grief. Attendees will also learn about different coping skills and interventions to help their clients both identify and successfully manage the different manifestations of Holiday Grief. This training is appropriately timed so that clinicians can immediately begin using these new tools and techniques with their clients as the Holiday seasons approach.
