Co-parenting with a narcissist presents unique and complex challenges that can significantly impact both the well-being of children and the non-narcissistic, “offended” parent. This clinical webinar will equip therapists with practical tools and insights from Schema Therapy to guide clients through the difficulties of co-parenting in such high-conflict dynamics, whether living with the narcissistic co-parent or from separate homes.
In this course, clinicians will learn how to help clients recognize and respond effectively to narcissistic behaviors, within the co-parenting relationship, while prioritizing personal and family needs, fortifying a stable and sturdy internal advocate, addressing/repairing their children’s experiences, and fostering resilience. The session will cover Schema Therapy concepts like schemas and schema modes as well as offer a rich conceptual framework and a well-formulated treatment plan built with effective strategies designed to help the “offended” parent navigate the challenges of co-parenting with a narcissist. This session will also provide unique tips and strategies for navigating the challenges we face when treating the narcissistic co-parent.
