CE That Meets Louisiana Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana, the requirements are:
A minimum of forty (40) contact hours of continuing education (CE) is required every two years for license renewal (by June 30 of odd-numbered years).
At least six (6) contact hours of the forty (40) must be devoted to ethics, professional practice, or boundaries.
At least three (3) contact hours must be in diagnosis (assessment and treatment of mental health disorders), and all CE must be from providers approved by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners (e.g. an ASWB-ACE approved provider), with a maximum of twenty (20) hours allowed via distance learning (i.e. online asynchronous home study).
