CE That Meets Tennessee Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee, the requirements are:
A minimum of thirty (30) contact hours of continuing education (CE) is required every two years for license renewal (by the last day of the licensee's birth month).
At least six (6) contact hours of the thirty (30) must be devoted to social work ethics.
At least one (1) hour must be specific to Tennessee Code Annotated §§ 63-23-101 et seq. and the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Board of Social Worker Licensure. All licensees must complete at least two (2) contact hours of suicide prevention training every four years (counts toward 30 hour total); up to two-thirds of CE hours may be completed via multimedia (e.g., online or distance learning).
