Yes, our courses are accepted by the Washington Department of Health - Mental Health Counselors for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

You can take as few or as many courses as you need—it's flexible!
Washington LMHC applicants generally need a qualifying master’s or doctoral degree, the required supervised postgraduate experience, and a passing qualifying NBCC examination such as the NCE or NCMHCE. Applicants must meet the Washington Department of Health’s education, examination, and experience requirements.
Washington requires 3,000 hours of postgraduate mental health counseling or at least 36 months of full-time counseling. This includes at least 100 hours of immediate supervision and 1,200 hours of direct counseling with clients.
An LMHCA is an associate-level license for counselors working toward full LMHC licensure and does not require the full postgraduate supervised experience before issuance. The LMHC is the full professional credential obtained after completing Washington’s additional experience and licensing requirements.
Washington LMHC licenses must be renewed every year on or before the licensee’s birthday. LMHC associates also renew annually, but their renewal date is based on the date their associate license was issued.
Yes. Under Washington’s current CE rules, LMHCs must complete 2 hours in professional roles and boundaries every two-year CE period. These hours must be separate from the required 6 hours of professional ethics and law.
