CE That Meets South Carolina Requirements
If you’re a Licensed Independent Social Worker - Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) in South Carolina, the requirements are:
A minimum of forty (40) clock hours of social-work-related continuing education (CE) is required every two years for license renewal (the reporting period runs January 1 through December 31 of even-numbered years).
No specific ethics requirement stated for LISW-CP's in South Carolina. At least one (1) contact hours must be in suicide assessment, treatment, and management.
At least twenty (20) contact hours must be provided by a trained social worker (BSW, MSW, or DSW). Remaining hours may be earned through seminars, workshops, home-study, online courses, or other Board-approved CE activities (no limit on online or distance-learning).
